TourtiereThis is one of my favourite holiday dish.  Tourtière is a meat pie. 

A Canadian tradition.  My mom use to make it all the time with the turkey at Christmas dinner.  I am keeping the tradition.


1lb ground pork
1/2 lb ground beef
I onion diced
I clove crushed garlic
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp ground sage
1/4tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp cloves
1 9″ double crust pie

Preheat oven to 425°f
In a saucepan combine all ingredients
Cook over medium heat until boiling, stirring occasionally
Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes
Place in pie crust
Put on top crust, cut vent slits, pinch edges to seal
Cover edge with aluminum foil
Bake 20 minutes
Remove foil and continue to bake for 20 minutes
Cool 10 minutes before slicing
